Mirror Edge — Typeface
Mirror Edge is a typeface inspired by the polished boundary of a mirror — the slender reflective line where thickness becomes visible and light lingers without forming a clear image. This subtle gleam is translated into letterforms that begin with bold, grounded strokes and resolve into fading lines and tapered tips. The contrast between solidity and disappearance echoes the mirror’s edge itself, capturing a quiet tension between presence and reflection.
Glyph Set
Mirror Edge includes a streamlined character set featuring a–z letterforms shared across both uppercase and lowercase, numerals 0–9, and a selection of ligatures intended to support character continuity. The typeface was constructed using a consistent stroke-contrast system with controlled terminal tapering across the full glyph set. Spacing, alignment, and proportions were optically refined to maintain clarity and visual rhythm at display sizes, while the tapered terminals introduce subtle texture at smaller text sizes, contributing to an intentionally ambiguous reading experience.
